LearningExpress Library

Introduction to WorldCat
Are you familiar with WorldCat.org and WorldCat FirstSearch? WorldCat is the world's largest network of library content and services. WorldCat libraries are dedicated to providing access to their resources on the Web, where most people start their search for information. You can search for books, magazines, journals, music CDs, audio books, DVDs/videos and a lot more by searching WorldCat. This webinar will explore both WorldCat.org and WorldCat FirstSearch. We’ll also show you how to use your search results to submit interlibrary loans quickly. Calendar and registration.

The State Library has a great lineup of workshops including technology workshops in both locations. Topics for this year’s workshops include: developing a Friends of the Library group, utilizing social media tools, and summer reading programs. Round table discussions on various library related topics will again be a part of the workshops. Technology workshops will feature representatives from EBSCO, Gale, and the State Library who will demonstrate and explain some of the new Online Library Resources. A new program being added this year is a panel discussion by community leaders. The discussion will give valuable ideas about increasing the library’s role in your community.
The State Library encourages carpooling to and from the lab locations, especially for those attending sessions at the Fargo Public Library, as parking is limited.
