State Agency Cataloging
Many state agencies have their own libraries or resources centers. The State Library can provide cataloging services, which consists of creating an online catalog for the agency and adding all of their title information, both as an initial project and on an ongoing basis as new items are acquired. There is no charge for this service. However, the collection information will be included in the overall Online Catalog and the agency must agree to allow photocopies of items to be made upon patron request or allow items to be temporary transferred to the State Library for patrons to examine there. There is no requirement to allow items to be actually checked out and removed from the library by patrons. The State Library has been providing this service since 1994 and currently catalogs for eight agencies.
