This webinar will cover the basics about call numbers, including Dewey Decimal call numbers (including biographies) and call numbers for fiction books and is geared towards school and public library staff that need to assign call numbers (or anyone wanting to understand call numbers better). The content will include: practical information on how call numbers are constructed, resources to help you create call numbers, an overview of patterns in Dewey Decimal number construction, information on cutters and collection names, and why consistency in call numbers is important. Resources to learn more about call numbers and cataloging will also be provided.
